| Designed by Robert A.M. Stern Architects, this 243,000 sf office building located on Disney’s Corporate Campus houses the 500+ animators and administrators responsible for producing the company’s successful animated features. Integrating technology and consumer fantasy, the exterior design uses an industrial billboard aesthetic of colorful corrugated metals. Interiors are open and loft-like, incorporating structure into the building’s playful architectural theme. The superstructure was constructed for less than $9/sf despite rigorous performance criteria and extensive use of raised flooring throughout the complex. In addition to personnel and studio spaces, the building also contains computer facilities, archives and a THX screening room. |
