Adjacent to Boston Public Garden in Historic Park Plaza, this project was approved by the Boston Redevelopment Authority to complete the last remaining re-development site in this section of Boston. The $80 million, 20-story residential building consists of 3 below-grade parking levels, a ground floor plaza and retail level and 17 floors of residential units. The building's 550,000 sf provides for 94,000 sf of parking garage and 466,000 sf of residential space. The parking area consists of a cast-in-place foundation wall constructed using conventional methods: a mat slab foundation system, and concrete columns and slabs. The building superstructure is concrete. It is framed with a primary transfer slab at the third floor that is intended to realign columns for the parking levels below, and two secondary transfer slabs at the 9th and 16th floors that are designed to accommodate column setbacks. This project was designed by Handel Architects for Millennium Partners.
