Renovations to the New York State Theater, designed by Philip Johnson and built in 1964, addressed many areas including the orchestra pit, proscenium, main curtain, fire curtain, auditorium, front-of-house lighting positions, stage lighting system, the lobby and back-of-house areas. The preliminary phases investigated and diagramed the structural elements addressed by the renovation scope. DeSimone helped to establish budgets for structural components and identified construction schedules that worked within predetermined construction windows.
