| E-Walk is a 200,000 sf mixed-use entertainment and retail facility located in Times Square, New York. It was designed by Gensler Associates for Tishman Construction Company. Extensive coordination was required to meet the complex needs of the building's varied occupants. The anchor tenant, Loews Theatres, occupies the building's top two floors. The tall theater floor heights created a considerable challenge, as the building also serves as a podium for the adjacent 40-story high-rise hotel. DeSimone also buttressed the unbraced concrete tower with large built-up members to meet the then new seismic requirements of the NYC building code. |
