Borys Hayda joined DeSimone in 1986 and currently holds the position of Managing Principal. He has amassed considerable expertise in the evaluation of existing structures and structural systems in concrete, steel, wood and composite materials. Mr. Hayda is also known for his expertise in wind engineering and flood zone design. Since 1988, Mr. Hayda has been responsible for designing most of DeSimone's casino and hospitality projects. Mr. Hayda has directed and managed the design of many large-scale, award-winning projects for DeSimone. Most notable is his work on Mohegan Sun, a $1 billion, 4 million sf expansion, creating the largest private development project on the East Coast. He has also been responsible for such projects as Astor Place, 90 West Street and the New Amsterdam Theater in New York.

Mr. Hayda received his Civil Engineering degree from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri, and is a licensed Professional Engineer in ten states. As Managing Principal of the New York and New Haven offices, Mr. Hayda's responsibilities include management of the office's technical staff, which involves supervision of the offices professional development program as well as administration of the offices technical library. Mr. Hayda is active in the technical committees reviewing the adoption of IBC in New York City.
