DERRICK D. ROORDA, SE

SENIOR ASSOCIATE
 

Derrick D. Roorda joined DeSimone Consulting Engineers in 1997 and is a Senior Associate in the San Francisco office. Mr. Roorda specializes in the design of buildings in high seismic and high wind areas. Mr. Roorda was the project manager for the design and construction of the Peter B. Lewis Building at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, and he is presently managing the design of the new Akron Art Museum in Akron, Ohio.

Mr. Roorda received his Bachelor Degree from Iowa State University and his Master's Degree in Structural Engineering from the University of California at Berkeley. He is a registered Structural Engineer in the states of California, Hawaii, Nevada, Idaho and in Alberta, Canada. He is also a Professional Engineer in the states of Utah, Virginia and Oregon. Currently he is Chair of the Public Affairs and Membership Committee for Structural Engineers Association of Northern California. Mr. Roorda is also an active participant in the Structural Engineer's Association of California and was recently named a 2002 recipient of the SEAOC Younger Engineer's Award for his work on the Peter B. Lewis Building at Case Western Reserve University.
