Vincent DeSimone is the Founder and Chairman of DeSimone Consulting Engineers. Mr. DeSimone founded the firm in 1969 and remains the senior partner in charge of design. Noted for his solutions to special structural problems, Mr. DeSimone has been cited on a number of occasions for his outstanding buildings in the United States as well as abroad. Among the domestic projects he has headed for the firm are: Cosmopolitan Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada; Atlantis Resort in the Bahamas; Peter B. Lewis Building at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio; Sofitel Hotel in New York; and Mohegan Sun Casino in Uncasville, Connecticut.
Mr. DeSimone received his Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering from Manhattan College. In addition to his significant professional accomplishments, Mr. DeSimone continues to serve as an industry leader. He is an active member of the American Society of Civil Engineers and a member and past president of the Concrete Industry Board of New York City. He served as Chairman of the Chapter on Optimization of Tall Buildings and was a Professor of Structures at Princeton University's School of Architecture. Mr. DeSimone is an elected Fellow of the American Concrete Institute for his numerous contributions with respect to technical papers on slip-forming, large circular plates, seismic resistant buildings in the Caribbean and industry safety, and has been chosen by the Concrete Industry Board as a "Distinguished Leader of Industry" for his work and commitment to this avenue of industry development.
