DeSimone Consulting Engineers is seeking an Electrical Project Engineer to join our New York office. The candidate will work on a variety of engineering projects within the Forensics practice, ranging from design to forensic assignments. Design assignments will involve new design, as well as design of repairs for existing buildings. Forensic investigations take place after failures or disasters have happened and entail on-site investigations across the globe as well as desktop reviews of relevant materials.

Responsibilities

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in electrical design including field experience
  • Technical knowledge of electrical design and repair
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to efficiently manage multiple medium sized projects
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in both manual and software-assisted calculation and analysis
  • Strong technical writing and communication skills as well as field documentation skills
  • Knowledge of Building Codes, Energy Code, local codes, and the ICC family of codes and applicable reference standards
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, REVIT and AutoCAD software
  • Ability to work in adverse field conditions (at height, in confined spaces, etc.)
  • Ability to efficiently work on projects independently or as part of a team
  • Ability to travel locally and out of region
  • Ability to seek and nurture client relationships
  • The Engineer in Training (EIT) Certification

Preferred Skills

  • Professional Engineer License
