Description

DeSimone Consulting Engineers is seeking a Project Manager for our Houston office with structural design experience on low- to mid-rise building projects.

The Project Manager will design, formulate plans, and supervise constructions projects, while implementing standard engineering procedures to direct the flow of engineering work. The Project Manager will utilize their experience in the design and analysis of new steel and concrete building structures to manage the structural design process from project inception through construction. The Project Manager will oversee production work, review completed construction documents, and coordinate the structural engineering design with the client, project architects, municipal agencies, and other design team members. The Project Manager will also review staffing needs and project financial planning.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Structural or Civil Engineering or related field, Master of Science or Master of Engineering degree is preferred
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in Texas
  • Minimum seven years of relevant experience in structural analysis and design steel and concrete structures, including project management
  • Experience in design of long span steel trusses, cast-in-place elevated floor system, deep and shallow building foundation system is encouraged
  • Experience in aviation infrastructure such as terminal buildings, maintenance hangar, ARFF, baggage handling system (BHS) is a plus
  • Ability to perform and supervise the design and analysis of low- to mid-rise buildings utilizing software packages such as ETABS, SAP 2000, RAM Structural Systems, RISA, and SAFE
  • Extensive knowledge of local and national building codes and design practices
  • Knowledge of standard construction practices and the ability to work with contractors to address construction issues
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and the ability to work in REVIT
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Detail oriented with strong interpersonal, problem solving, decision making, and team skills
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong client relationships
  • Ability to lead and supervises an internal project team
