Known in the industry as a design-oriented innovator, Thomas Taylor brings decades of experience to his leadership role as Principal and Director of DeSimone’s structural engineering practice in Dallas.

Known as “an architects’ engineer,” Taylor has served as Project Manager and Principal-in-Charge for over 50 structures in the Dallas Central Business District.

Over the course of his career, Taylor pioneered the introduction of a range of structural systems including a precast concrete-stack wall system for parking garages (1974), and the tallest slipform core for high-rise buildings (1988). He also spearheaded the use of insulated, load-bearing masonry cavity walls, as well as tilt-wall construction for ‘high design’ architectural buildings in the early 2000s.

Taylor’s experience and skills across project types strengthens and enhances the delivery of attentive and innovative services to our clients in Dallas and beyond as a leader in support of the global DeSimone structural engineering team.

The recipient of numerous industry awards and a member of a variety of engineering professional organizations, Taylor has also been recognized by the architectural community with an Honorary Membership in the Dallas Chapter of the AIA and the Texas Society of Architects. He earned his BS in Architectural Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin.
