The Magazine of the American Society of Civil Engineers featured DeSimone’s P.S. 62 net-zero school project.

PS 62-R will be New York’s first net-zero energy school. Located in Staten Island, the school will produce the same amount of energy as it uses, making it one of the most sustainable schools in the world. The innovative school will be the first of its kind in the northeastern United States. The school will be constructed in the Woodrow neighborhood in Staten Island’s Community District 3. The anticipated square footage will be approximately 77,000 sf and will contain classrooms, cafeteria, and a gymatorium program in addition to indoor and outdoor gardens and exterior play yards.
