Congratulations to our design partners at FXFOWLE Architects who recently won Silver Prize from The International Design Awards (IDA) for the new Statue of Liberty Museum.

Since 2007, IDA has acknowledged architects and project teams who influence and enrich people’s lives through innovative design. To that end, the development will serve as an extension of New York City’s most historically significant standing structures with a particular focus on sustainability, public engagement, and modern design.

As structural engineer, DeSimone worked closely with FXFOWLE, the National Park Service, and the Statue of Liberty – Ellis Island Foundation to help accomplish the 26,000-square-foot facility. In addition to an indoor museum, the development will include a sprawling outdoor plaza and a rooftop terrace with incredible views of the Manhattan skyline. When completed, the structure is anticipated to achieve LEED Gold Certification.
