DeSimone fully promotes sustainability within our built environment. We strive to minimize our impact on the environment by endorsing sustainable and conservation ideals throughout all of our operations. We are proud to be a U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) National Member organization and to have worked on numerous projects which have gained LEED Certification.

Here some of our best sustainable projects, which have gone above and beyond in delivering environmentally-conscious features in residential towers, offices, government buildings, and more.

Project: The Visionaire

Location: New York, NY

Certification: LEED Platinum

The Visionaire is Battery Park City’s most environmentally responsive residential building. The 35-story tower is a mixed-use development including 250 condominiums, a local organic market, and headquarters for the Parks Conservancy.

This building won top honors in the 2008 Green Building Competition for New York City.


riverhouse-miniProject: Riverhouse

Location: New York, NY

Certification: LEED Platinum

Riverhouse, a 264-unit condominium, located on River Terrace in the northern section of Battery Park City, was the first residential building in the United States that used double-glass wall technology.

This building integrated environmentally responsible materials, green roofs, progressive filtration and recycling technologies.


verdesian-miniProject: The Verdesian

Location: New York, NY

Certification:  LEED Platinum

Completed in 2006, The Verdesian is the first residential high rise to attain a LEED Platinum rating. Among its many environmentally-conscious features, the 24-story, 253-unit apartment tower has an HVAC system that brings fresh air into each apartment. This system exceeds New York City energy efficiency standards by almost 40 percent.

Location: Bronx, NY

Certification:  LEED Gold

The Center for Global Conservation is the new headquarters for the Wildlife Conservation Society. It is a sustainably-built, LEED Gold-certified building which provides administrative offices for the organization and a research center within the zoo.


1450-brickell-miniProject: 1450 Brickell

Location: Miami, Florida

Certification:  LEED Gold

1450 Brickell became Miami’s first LEED Gold office building when it was completed in 2010. The 35-story energy efficient tower utilized recycled construction waste.

Almost 80% of the project’s construction waste was recycled with 40% of materials coming from sources within 500 miles of the construction site.

Location: New York, NY

Certification:  LEED Gold

This 35-story luxury residential tower rises 394 feet, offering views of New York Harbor and the Hudson River. Millennium Tower Residences is a LEED Gold building featuring rooftop solar panels, energy-efficient windows, appliances, and building management systems.

 


david-zwirner-gallery-miniProject: David Zwirner Gallery

Location: New York, NY

Certification:  LEED Gold

Located in West Chelsea, the David Zwirner Gallery is a five-story building which houses a main gallery, public exhibition space, and administrative offices.

This Gallery is the first commercial gallery to achieve a LEED Gold rating, containing several environmentally sustainable features such as high efficiency mechanical systems, maximized daylighting, and a green roof.


lv-city-hall-miniProject: Las Vegas City Hall

Location: Las Vegas, NV

Certification: LEED Silver

The new seven-story Las Vegas City Hall is a steel-and-glass skinned structure housing 300,000 square feet.

Among its many sustainable features, the 40,000-square-foot public plaza contains 33 energy-producing solar trees on the south façade of the building, generating 50 kilowatts of photovoltaic electricity and doubling as pedestrian lights.
