Dubai’s Wasl Tower is Clad with the World’s Tallest Ceramic Façade

Project Update

November 2, 2017

When completed, the Wasl Tower in Dubai will accomplish the world’s tallest ceramic facade and marks another grand achievement for DeSimone’s Abu Dhabi structural design team. Located on Sheikh Zayed Road, a segment of the longest highway in UAE, the tower is clad with a black, ribboned facade that is meant to evoke a “vertical boulevard.”

Wasl Tower was designed in collaboration with Dutch architects UN Studio, and will accommodate both office and residential areas. The build site will also include an 11-story parking structure with a rooftop pool deck. Total built-up area of the tower and adjacent parking structure is approximately 1.86 million square feet.
