Gothamist – The Standard, One of the 10 Best Buildings in NYC
The New York arm of The Gothamist ranks DeSimone’s project The Standard Hotel amongst the ten best buildings in New York City.

The Standard is a 19-story, 204,500 sf luxury boutique hotel located in the heart of Manhattan’s Meatpacking district. The Standard was erected over the High Line, a historic elevated railroad/landmark district, which bisects the site. The Standard High Line is located at 848 Washington Street between Little 12th Street and 13th Street in the Meatpacking District.

Gothamist calls it “a prime spot to party on a roof,” and “an oddball architectural marvel in its own right…The building, completed in 2009, straddles the High Line in a “perpetual lap dance,”.
