Introducing Amy M. Peevey – Director, Building Envelope Services

DeSimone is pleased to welcome Amy M. Peevey, Director of Building Envelope Services, to the firm. With a national leadership role, Amy will further the development, management, and growth of building envelope services, utilizing her 20 years of building envelope expertise to support existing clients and an expanding portfolio of clients in Texas and the Southwestern region of the United States. The firm’s continued expansion of structural, forensic, building envelope, and facade consulting services will allow DeSimone to assist our clients during all phases of a building’s life cycle.

Amy has provided expertise and oversight within many sectors of the construction industry including residential, industrial, commercial, educational, and healthcare. She has participated in a wide variety of projects for the investigation, evaluation, repair, and construction of structural, architectural, and material-related building issues. Her specialized experience in building envelope includes the design development, investigation, evaluation, analysis, restoration, construction monitoring/administration, and litigation support for both historically significant and contemporary buildings. Amy’s understanding of building envelope systems and interaction with mechanical and structural systems allows her to provide comprehensive solutions to serve her client’s needs. Throughout her career, Amy has made numerous contributions to the industry through her committee leadership, educational programs, and technical publications.

After graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Architectural Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin, she began her career as a Staff Engineer at Law Engineering and Environmental Service, Inc. from 1999 through 2000 and continued as a Senior Associate with Wiss, Janney, Elstner Associates, Inc. from 2000 through 2008. Amy’s building envelope engineering expertise also includes co-founding Building Exterior Solutions, LLC in 2008 where she provided technical oversight for the company and management of the Houston and Dallas branches. In addition to providing client services, she has published, instructed, and provided leadership within professional building envelope organizations and has held the position of chairwoman for RCI’s Building Envelope Symposium.
