John R. Viise, Managing Principal of DeSimone’s Chicago office, is a featured panelist at the upcoming CTBUH Panel Discussion: Chicago Building Code Modernization. Bringing over 28 years of experience to the table, John will discuss the effects the code modernization will have on structural engineering in Chicago, alongside a panel of experts in Architecture, Sustainability, High-Rise Buildings, Fire & Life Safety, and MEP.

John Viise currently serves as Managing Principal of DeSimone’s Chicago office. His experience includes high-rise and specialty structures around the world and he specializes in wind and seismic engineering in tall building design. At DeSimone, John’s recent work in Chicago includes 900 W Randolph, a 500-foot-tall, condominium tower that achieves a slender form without the need for costly outriggers, and Lincoln Yards, a 22-story, 637,000 square foot building comprised of ground floor retail, office space, and parking.
