Las Vegas has designed its new City Hall focusing on creating a sustainable development to feature Las Vegas in a new light. The structure serves as an expression of its commitment to a sustainable future. City Hall is a 300,000 sf LEED Gold-rated facility, made of steel and glass. The primary structure is an angled, two-section seven-story tower. The project used 2,900 tons of steel. In addition, the project features 33 energy-producing photovoltaic “trees” that serve as pedestrian lights. The use of steel enabled the structure to maintain a slim profile and create a look reminiscent of a hi-tech silicon forest. Read more
