  • A 47-story condominium tower and a 6-story contiguous podium/garage structure
  • The podium levels facility contain various recreational amenities with lap pool, tennis courts and putting green
  • The structural system for the tower is comprised of reinforced concrete columns with flat plate, post-tensioned slabs
  • The foundation system is comprised of three-to-four-foot diameter drilled pier shafts, approximately 130 feet in length
  • Reinforced concrete shear walls provide the lateral system
  • 18-inch-deep structural steel coupling beams are designed to to address the corridor openings through the shear walls
  • The shear walls are designed as coupled shear walls with structural steel beams serving as the coupling link between two otherwise tall and slender wall piers
  • This allowed the reduction of the number of shear walls to only two in the narrow direction and allowed for greater architectural flexibility in the unit layouts
