About the Project

  • The City of Houston’s Market Square is located on Houston’s original city hall and occupies a square block in the downtown historic district
  • The urban park features a central lawn, terraced dog runs with water features and climbing boulders, fountains and contemporary public art
  • Project also features a large play sculpture of a dog carved from a hundred year-old Galveston Live Oak felled by Hurricane Ike and a commemorative garden
  • Buildings were constructed using structural steel framing supported on drilled piers
